:My thought is that instead of welding crappy cats on my crappy megan racing pipes, I would get the SZ 3" dp/tp combo with resonators, weld my heat shield to those, buy cats from autozone, return them, and show them the resonators and their "receipt". So what you want to do is to trick the smog technician into thinking you actually have cats by welding heat shields to simulate cats. To escalate the fraud, you want to buy cats from Autozone and return them, just to get the receipt. On top of knowingly committing a fraud, you'd better hope that your car can actually pass smog without cats. Also, all the Autozones I've been to crosses out the item(s) and dates your receipt when you return any item?
